I think that you are talking about the Carta Vieja Rum Factory. I am not sure if you can go there on your own (maybe you need a group) so you should ask a local person about this. What I know for sure is that you can take a tour of the factory for free during weekdays, between 8 and 4. They also give you 'a little something' to take home with you.
